Terms of service

By downloading, installing or using PDF Converter (the “App”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App and remove it from your device.

The App is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). Where these terms and the Standard EULA conflict, the Standard EULA governs. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the App.

PDF Lab Studio grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. The App is licensed, not sold.

You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, or attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent that such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

Document scanning, photo-to-PDF conversion and PDF text extraction are unlimited on the free tier. There is no daily counter, no cooldown and no advertising.

Each Pro tool — signing, scan to text, and merge and compress — may be used once at full strength without payment. The output of that free use carries no watermark and is not degraded in any way. The upgrade offer appears only after such a tool has produced a result, never on launch and never as a timed countdown.

We may adjust what the free tier includes in future versions. Any such change applies to new versions of the App; it does not retroactively affect a version already installed on your device.

Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription at $3.99 per month or $23.99 per year (about $2.00 per month). Prices are shown in US dollars; the amount charged in your territory is set by Apple and displayed before purchase.

Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.

You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device. There is no free trial, so nothing expires and no countdown runs. Refunds are handled solely by Apple under Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions; we cannot issue them.

You retain all rights to the documents, images and text you process with the App. We claim no licence over them and receive no copy, because processing happens on your device.

You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Deleting the App, or losing the device it is installed on, may result in the loss of files held only in its local storage.

You agree not to use the App to process material you have no right to process, to forge signatures or alter documents with intent to deceive, or to violate any applicable law.

A signature you place with the App is a graphic you apply to a document. Whether it constitutes a binding electronic signature is determined by the law and the agreement that govern that document, not by the App.

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

Text recognition and compression are approximations. We do not warrant that recognised text will be accurate, that a compressed file will reach a particular size, or that the App will operate without interruption or error. Verify important documents before you rely on them.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDF Lab Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, documents, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the App.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

We may update the App and these terms from time to time. Revised terms are published at this URL with a new date, and continued use of the App after they take effect constitutes acceptance.

This licence terminates automatically if you breach these terms, and you may terminate it at any time by deleting the App. Sections 5 through 10 survive termination.

These terms are governed by the laws of Cambodia, where the App is published from, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

Nothing here removes a mandatory consumer-protection right available to you where you live, or your right to bring a claim in the courts of your own country. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK or a jurisdiction with equivalent rules, those rights apply to you in full whatever this section says.
